SanAce^TM is a potent, proprietary extract from the mulberry leaf that has a long history of safe use across Asia for the prediabetic and mild type-2 diabetes. In the in vitro a-glucosidase inhibition assays, SanAce^TM was shown to be a good natural inhibitor of alfa-glucosidase, having an IC50 of 70μg/ml. In a glucose tolerance study in 64 Wistar rats, both intragastic and intraperitoneal doses of SanAce^TM significantly lowered blood glucose level, being as effective as miglitol at its pharmacological dosage. Moreover, the intragastric route of administration showed that the active compounds have good oral bioavailability and are not inactivated through metabolism. The results of the in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated that SanAce^TM had an inhibitory effect on alfa-glucosidase, resulting in reduced blood-glucose levels.
